Nicole Malone 2007 AIA Jury Member
Nicole Malone was selected last year to sit as the associate jury member on the AIA National Honor Awards Jury for the 2007 Institute Honor Awards for Architecture.
The honor took her to Washington, D.C., Iowa City, Iowa and Beijing, China, to view and evaluate project submissions.
The winners were announced at the Annual Convention in May held in San Antonio, Texas.
Bryan Zimmer President Elect
Bryan Zimmer has been selected as the Douglas County Historical Society Board of Directors President Elect. The Mission of the Douglas County Historical Society is to collect, preserve and present to the public the history of Douglas County, Nebraska.
Kaneko Phase One
Phase One of the Museum Kaneko is underway and should be complete by November of 2007. This phase consists of the renovation of the “Bow Truss” building at 11th and Jones Street, and will display pieces from the museum’s permanent collection. Dundee Restored
There are several Dundee buildings currently under renovation. In the Fall of 2006 ELKCO Properites out of Denver purchased the property at 50th and Underwood, which included the old Dundee Hardware Building, Talent Tree, Twice as Nice and KFAB radio station. The Architectural Offices were asked to help in the façade makeover. The KFAB building and the center building were spruced up, painted and given new awnings and lighting.
Clocktower on Water Street
The Architectural Offices were selected to design the renovation of the Clocktower on Water Street Project in Sioux City, Iowa. The building will contain 49 residential condominium units in addition to office space and a restaurant on the main floor. The Romanesque Revival warehouse was constructed in 1906 for the Simmons Hardware Company.
The Rows at Dundee Ridge
The Rows at Dundee Ridge on 49th and Dodge are now under construction. The groundbreaking was held Summer 2007 and the first units should be occupied by winter of 2008. The development will be home to 27 town homes to be completed by late Summer 2008.
Bill Stott selected for Leadership Omaha
In August Bill Stott was selected for Leadership Omaha, Class 30. The mission of Leadership Omaha is to develop effective community leaders who will strengthen and transform the community. This is the thirtieth year that the Omaha Chamber of commerce has been developing future civic leaders.
Dundee Day Annual Coloring Contest
The Architectural Offices hosted their annual coloring contest during Dundee Day, on August 25th. Children, ages 1-14, colored a sketch of Dundee’s eCreamery Ice Cream Shop designed by the office. www.ecreamery.com
